Peter Carvell Joins BS&L

BRATTLEBORO — Daniel C. Yates, president and CEO of The Brattleboro Savings and Loan Association has announced that Peter Carvell has joined the bank as sales development manager.

In this position, Carvell will be responsible for leading the bank's internal business development program including creating, maintaining and promoting a consultative sales culture, encompassing all lending and retail staff, from commercial and mortgage lenders, to branch managers, to customer service representatives.

Carvell brings more than 10 years of banking experience to his new position. While his most recent endeavor was as a broker with Brattleboro Area Realty, he previously worked for Chittenden Bank, where he served as assistant vice president, focusing on business development, sales and commercial and consumer lending. He also served Chittenden Bank and Vermont National Bank as personal banker and assistant branch manager.

A graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Carvell serves as a corporator for Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, where he also serves on the Finance Committee and the Corporate Division Committee for the BMH Capital Campaign. He is an active member of the Brattleboro Sunrise Rotary Club, having served as president in 2006. He has also served the club's Community Service Committee and currently serves as chairman of the club's Fundraising Committee.

Carvell previously served on the Finance Committee for the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce and has assisted numerous local nonprofits with fundraising efforts, including the Winston Prouty Center, the United Way of Windham County and the local chapter of the March of Dimes.
